Product Red
Join Red Want to buy red stuff AND help people living with AIDS in Africa?

One of the reddest things out there at the moment is Product (RED), partly founded by none other than Bono of U2. It is part of the ingenious (RED) campaign which raises money for women and children affected by AIDS/HIV in Africa.

The idea is simple but very powerful - the organisation teams up with major brands such as American Express and Apple and Converse to produce special (RED)-branded products such as a (RED) AmEx card and a (RED) iPod. These look great (of course they do, they're red!), but not only that, a portion of the profits goes to the Global Fund to finance projects in Africa.

By cleverly teaming up with these major brands and creating exciting and desirable products (in other words, leveraging the gargantuan amounts of money sloshing around in consumers' pockets - nice one Bono, he's been wondering how to get at that!), the (RED) project has raised tens of millions of dollars for AIDS and other projects in Africa. You can check out the rather nice red pages (almost as nice as these!) here, and maybe pick up something cool and red and donate money to a worthy cause at the same time.

Here at It's Gotta Be Red we cannot stock (RED) products, but you can buy other cool red stuff at our red store here or via the directory below.
