FULLY RESOLVED: I believe that WordBay v0.99 now resolves this issue - please let me know if you experience otherwise.
Just a heads-up about a possible bug in WordBay I am trying to get to the bottom of. It seems to be a new development and relates to complex queries with operators, like:
“acoustic guitar” (gibson,fender,ovation,yamaha,martin,ibanez,gretsch) -(semi)
which are now yielding the following error:
Please specify a query! (9003)
The bug seems to be related directly to WordBay rather than any changes in eBay RSS or search, so I am trying to figure it out, with no success at the moment. It is possible that the problem has arisen with the 2.5 version of WordPress, since I am sure this worked fine before.
If you are not using such complex queries then you will be OK, but a lot of us DO, so I need to figure this out ASAP. If you can shed any light on this issue your help would be much appreciated, in particular if you know of any changes that might have been made to the WordPress native RSS functions (rss.php).

Speaking of Bug. I’m thinking about improvements. I don’t know if you add any new feature on WordBay but I sure did.
How about have a look on my website again and tell me what you think?
Honestly I’m getting up to 100 referral clicks a day now, but without any earning at all. So I’m using this for nothing?
If things go well (more money), I’d improve it more using the API and add sorting functions. I could. However that might make it a totally whole new plugin. Shall it be renamed? I am not sure.
Let’s see how.

Yeah, you did some cool stuff with the plugin! I like the backwards counter, I was thinking of doing something like that, but I don’t know JavaScript at all…
You could make your own version of WordBay - I think the GNU/GPL lets you do that, and you could call it what you wanted. As for using the API - of course, the API gives you far more flexibility, but I will probably not adapt WordBay for the API myself. Anyone who wanted to use it would have to register for the keys and it would be a hassle for many users who are not developers.
I am working on another little project using the API, but I don’t think that will be free
As for 100 clicks a day and no sales - again, I wish I could give you a magic answer. 100 clicks would in some niches give you at least SOME sales, but it’s possible that cars have a lower EPC. After all, you don’t take the decision to buy a car lightly… So when you DO make sales, they will be a better commission than the pennies I get for some of my niches, but I guess they are harder work. Also, you could be getting some bot clicks…?
Thanks for this detailed info.
First, Yeah, free version shouldn’t come with API because it’s hard to configure API to work properly.
Second, Yeah, car niche is really hard to convert into sales. No one seem to buy car just like that. So what is your niche and do you make any sales at all? (if this is confidential you don’t need to tell, or you could email me).
Third, I love your plugin and thanks to it I made some money via AdSense. Do you notice any increase in click through because I set some % for generosity inside the plugin settings.

Binh
