Drop me a line if you have any comments, questions, proposals, hate mail. Also if you are a WordBay donor, then include a link to your site, some anchor text and a hotlink to a screenshot around 200 x 200 if you want, and I will add you to the “WordBay Showcase”.
Thanks for your plugin. I find following problems :-
1. My Settings are as follows
Referral Locale = United States
Location for dispatch of items = United States
Ebay Site ID = United States
When all these settings are for US then why it is showing prices in my country’s currency. I think currency must be based on “target country” and not “user country”
Problem remained same with both geotargetting on and off. How can I manage it.
2. It shows “End date” as against the “Time Left” settings of ebay. Actually I want ebay’s original display settings.
3. Items displayed does not match my keyword settings. I have tried many variations of it.
4. Items displayed at first time settings still continue except change of date. I have refreshed the page (even after time intervals) some 50 times but displayed items are same.
5. Once we set category it applies to all posts and pages. But practically sometimes we need different categories for different pages/posts. For example auction relating to the keyword “tattoos” are available in three categories namely arts, health and beauty and crafts. If we select all categories then it will display auctions it finds in first category it searches. And in such cases all our posts/pages will display same results.
Though I am not a “php programmer”. Yet on the strength of my long programming experience of other languages please permit me to suggest if this problem could be solve by inserting some codes and changing the syntax to
[wordbay]category, keyword[/wordbay]
6. When I entered my keyword in ebay site it displayed hundreds of items. But same keyword in wordbay displayed only one item.

Hi, thanks for your feedback and sorry for not getting back earlier - I cannot dedicate a great deal of time to supporting WordBay, and it usually goes in phases, so I have not been able to help recently.
Assuming you have not solved these problems yet, let’s try to see if there are any solutions. First, I have to say that there is a really stupid problem which is not solved yet - namely, the product categories ONLY work for the US eBay, all the others you have to use “All categories”. Stupid, I know, but I only recently realised that category numbers are different for all eBay sites. But you are targetting US eBay, so that should not be a problem… Anyway, your queries:
1. That is strange - you MUST have left geo-targetting on somehow! There is no other way that the plugin would “know” that you are in India, and display currency from your country! Please check all the settings again, I have not heard of anyone else with this problem!
2. Sorry, the RSS feed only gives End Date, not “Time Left”. I would have to calculate Time Left from this, and this is a bit complicated to program (for me anyway), so even though I agree Time Left would be better, I cannot currently offer this. I will try to sometime in the future.
3. This COULD be related to the category problem I mentioned above, in which case, try “All” as your category and just be very selective with your keywords - it can be done. Can you give an example of the keywords you are using?
4. Displayed items do not change very quickly - they always display in the same order as if you searched on eBay (with the same parameters). The items only change once the top item has been sold - then all the other products move up and a new one appears at the bottom. So they are displayed in reverse order of end date, and that means change is only over a few hours or a day or two, depending on how “busy” the niche is. Does that answer your question?
5. Yes, I am aware of this, and I have also planned a similar solution, which I WILL do eventually. You have to realise though, that WordBay started from a very simple program, and I never originally intended it for big, multi-category sites. I wanted it to be simple for webmasters to insert products from one niche category into their site. I AM considering this, as I say, so be patient, I hope I find time to do this soon.
6. That is strange - could be related to the category problem again. Yes, you certainly SHOULD see the same results, but provided all the parameters are the same, such as country and category. When this happens (it happens to me too), it usually means that the parameters on your site have been limited in SOME way, so double check them. Of course, you should also paste in the exact same keywords as you are using on the site.
I hope that is SOME help, sorry I can’t be more specific - just bear in mind that hundreds of people are using WordBay and getting the results they want, and any problems like this are usually due to the settings you are using, so just play with them! I haven’t had many Indian users feeding back to me, so I can also accept the possibility that Indian eBay is different in some way - we can investigate that if necessary, but as I understand it you are targetting US anyway?
